Having been wound up by Trevor Husk all week on Whatsapp about the hated Avoca, the Fs took the field with three reserves on a sublime piece of turf at Jubilee Oval. Feeling confident after a tough mid-week training session, the team’s ambivalence was shattered in the fifteenth minute when Avoca landed the first goal. Read more

Round 7 saw us play our only scheduled home game at Duffy’s Oval against Gosford and we were all looking forward to seeing how $200,000 dollars’ worth of pitch would be to play on. With Duffy’s Oval closed, it was back to Wyoming where a warm day and a wet pitch awaited. Barnstoneworth started minus their captain, who was stuck in traffic, and after a frenetic first ten minutes, Mountains landed the first goal. Read more

Much to our surprise given the rainfall of biblical proportions in the week leading up to the game, round 3 saw us travel to Pat Morley Oval to play the table-topping Entrance 2. After our disappointing last minute loss in round 2, the focus was very much on keeping our discipline right to the final whistle, which would hopefully allow us to stay in touch the top 3 teams who had all bagged maximum points so far.
