Duffy's crowd

Due to the rescheduling of our washed out round 4 game, we found ourselves facing Kanwal two weeks in a row but this time on our turf.

With some of our missing players able to return our numbers looked slightly better this time around but we still needed to call upon some assistance from the 35C’s in the form of Tim Watt and Leigh McInerny to make sure we could maintain our rotations. Read more

A distinct case of deja vu – Playing the same opponent at the same ground for the second week in a row. We had a great early chance when James Mitchell got himself one on one with their keeper who rushed out and knocked him over the fence into the ambulance station. Penalty awarded but how the heck was that only a yellow???? Unfortunately, Jimmy decided not to wait where he landed in the ambo yard – he could’ve caught the ball from the spot kick… Read more

We were all badly in need of a boost after having our arses handed to us 2 weeks ago on the desolate battlefield of Kariong Hill, and were hoping for revenge against a team that had only narrowly beaten us last time out. This match started with black armbands and a minute’s silence around the circle in remembrance of Casper Ellis, a Terrigal Under-12s player who lost his fight with leukaemia the previous week. Having all joined this team by dint of being fathers, the Barnstoneworth side wishes to send its condolences to the Ellis family. Read more

Having played a half for the over-45Bs at East Gosford, your correspondent missed the first half of this game, but the score on his arrival was nil-all and the banter on the sideline was all about missed goal opportunities, at least a dozen of them apparently.
