Avoca vs Barnstoneworth MAA – Match Report

The Barnstoneworth MAA boys suffered a loss in their first game this season but the boys are not too down after a much better 2nd half performance. It was an almost full strength squad that visited the young Avoca mob, with 2 boys out with sickness.

Avoca led 1-0 in a goal that I can’t quite remember so let’s move on to the good stuff! 1-0 down at Half Time and after a decent team talk from all playing members, we found ourselves back in the game with a thunder strike from Brendan McKenzie after a dodgy offside call (dodgy for both teams to be perfectly honest). Avoca nipped back in front with their own thunder strike but Scott Brammall was on hand to level up the scoreboard from the penalty spot. Not sure it was a penalty though…..

Avoca stole the win from our grasp with about 5/10 to go. Ahh well, onto next week and back home at Fortress Frost!
