Barnstoneworth’s newest(ish) team, the O35DS, took on the second Avoca team in a month for Round 7 at Eastern Oval. With the squad missing some key players through injury and work commitments, we called upon the help of club legends Chris West, Mike Curran and Jake King to help us out.
This week the 45DC came up against Killarney. We had decided to park the bus until we saw what we were up against after we got demolished last year, but the team interpreted this as ‘maintain a coherent midfield’, so turned out to be a really good idea.

The late game time of 3.05pm, 9 players in the warm up, a last minute keeper change (thank you to our volunteer – name disclosed for privacy reasons) and our late arrivals running on the field just in time for kickoff saw us start with great enthusiasm and excitement.
An evenly contested game against Kincumber revealed a better first half by them but the second half was ours. Our passing in the first half saw us lose possession on many occasions and our attack was limited due to poor finishing and any good opportunities up front not capitalised on.
