Due to our washed out Round 17 game being rescheduled to 27 August, Round 18 game saw us travel to play Kanwal in our penultimate home and away game of the season as minor premiers and with the brief being to make sure we used our final two games to build momentum for the finals series and get some more minutes into our returning players’ legs. A “nothing” game with nothing at stake – both sides locked into 3rd and 4th position regardless of what happened on this pitch or any other in our comp.

Blazing sunshine and a sticky pitch awaited Barnstoneworth when the team finally managed to find Austin Butler Oval Two, about five minutes before kick-off. With minimal warm-up and missing their goalkeeper, Barnstoneworth made the obvious decision to put their star striker Peter ‘Pez’ Miller in goals. Read more
A Wednesday night replay of our round 17 match against East Gosford resulting in a 0-2 loss (our first since round 5) which effectively ends our chance of a top 2 finish.
This was a weird one…
A gutsy 1-0 victory for the B South boys over the previously unbeaten leaders of our league. Before this game The Entrance were on 41 points from 13 wins and 2 draws (one of those against us last time we played) and a goal differential of +37. Read more
After experiencing some difficulty finding the ground, the Barnstoneworth team welcomed Damien Vane-Tempest back to the centres following a long absence. Despite it being mid-winter in high-altitude banjo country, it was a blazing sunny day, and the sweat broke out within five minutes of the opening whistle. Read more
Round 16 saw another home game moved to our opponents ground, due to the disappointing continued closure of Duffy’s Oval, something which surely has to be addressed for next season. Read more
Buoyed by our titanic winning performance midweek, The Legends returned in triumph to Terry Oval looking for their first win all season on that blessed turf. Our opponents were Umina, against whom we had previously had a draw that should have been a win, and a loss that should have been a draw. A pre-match inspection confirmed that as usual about 20% of the pitch was unplayable due to marshland, potholes and strips of butcher’s grass etc. Read more
