BUFC D’s vs Gosford

The good ship Barnstoneworth (D1) dropped anchor at Narara High School this week on a scorching Sunday afternoon for a game against old adversaries Gosford. With almost a full strength squad this was a good chance to try out the new guys and get a bit of match fitness with only 2 weeks to the big kick off.

3 x 20 minute 3rd’s saw the Barny army stroke the ball round well on a bumpy pitch with Alan Nigel and Mick all fitting in easily though not alot to write home about. However once we twigged a goal only counts between the posts, all was well with Alan showing great tenacity to nick yet another hat trick and our Thai international Nick thumping in another as we eventually strolled home 4-0.

Some fine goalkeeping/having a kip was on show from Bill, Smithy and particularly Dell who celebrated the news about becoming a Dad by doing sod all (but smiled a lot). A good runout, good hosts as always, a few positional experiments and lukewarm beer, what else could you ask for on a fine Sunday afternoon?
