BUFC A’s v East Gosford B’s – Trial Game

The game was played on a very warm Sunday afternoon at Terrigal High. BUFC started off very confidently against a strong East Gosford B side and quickly got into their slick passing and moving game.

BUFC dominated possession in the first half but were unable to capitalise with 5 or 6 golden chances wasted. As the game wore on East Gosford became more confident and played some creative football and could have snatched the lead just before the break, however BUFC held o to keep it all level going into the half-time break.

The 2nd half started very much in the same vein as the 1st half with BUFC controlling the game but not taking their chances, however 10 minutes into the half Gavin was rewarded for his tireless work and finally broke the deadlock with a 18 yard finish.
Rather than take the wind out of the sails this spurred East Gosford on and after a couple of good chances and a fine save from Darren, East Gosford  finally got a reward for their good work with a well taken finish to level the scores at 1-1.
BUFC then started picking up the pace of the game with “The Precious One” Andy Pride and “The Hammer” Ray terrorising the left flank. It seemed like only a matter of time before the East Gosford defence would crack. With 10 minutes to go and another attack from the left, an unintentional dummy from Nic allowed an easy tap in for Gordy to make it 2-1.
With the midfield being dominated by Ash and Nic and Steve Surgey and Craig causing chaos up front the game seemed to be slipping away from a tiring East Gosford side and from a Steve Surgey corner Nic placed a low short kick into the corner of the goal which managed to squeeze under the defenders foot to make it 3-1. This turned out to be the final kick of the game.
