BUFC B Vs Umina
On a sunny but very windy day (I could see some of those stirrups flapping up !!!) Umina have had a start similar to us so this week we thought we could pick up our second win. Positive from the start Brad Finch had an early chance after 15 seconds but narrowly missed by a fag paper, from then on we were very positive in attack but against play Umina scored first, this time our heads didn’t go down but spurned us on to find the equaliser, that came in the 30th minute when a superb ball from Neal (the Rhino) Tarditi from within our own half found the galloping Phil Clark (have not got a name for him yet!) who calmly slotted the ball past the keeper to make it 1-1.
After half time we came out with the same attitude and within 5 mins Phil nearly got his second but for the cross bar stopping it. It was pretty much end to end stuff from then on and looked like a draw was on the cards, that was until we received a free kick just outside the box, who took control of the ball? Our very own player coach Kev (the Cuthbert) Self. A sweet left foot curler went around the wall hit the post and went in after 5 mins of him celebrating, pointing to his back boxing the corner flag (he was going to throw his shirt to the crowd but he couldn’t get it off) we kick off again with 13 mins left to hang on.
We hung on and deserved our win, a great performance by the whole team and of course man of the match going to The Cuth boy!
Final score BUFC 2 UMINA 1
