BUFC B’s Vs Gosford – Trial Game

Barnstoneworth B’s played Gosford on Saturday at Narara Valley High School.

A good all-round performance from the boys saw lots of chances in the first half.

After lots of pressure from the two front runners Ed & Nigel and some great through balls from a strong midfield of Neil, Shaun, Lee and (Kev)

Joey was sidelined with an ankle injury and a re-shuffle in the backs saw Gazza and Phil take control of the central defence.

A well struck penalty from Ed took the score to 1-0 mid way through the first half and thats how the score stayed up until half time.

Second half saw a different game with Gosford coming out all guns blazing but to no avail due to great performance from Dave Sole in defence and a few great saves from Darrell (but he was never really tested!).

Finally some great play on the right side saw some classy one touch passing from midfield up to the forwards and Ed playing a great ball across the box for Nigel to finish.

Fitness levels dropped to the end of the game which gave Gosford the break and a very scrappy goal brought the score to 2-1 final result.

Overall good performance… but the fitness training still needs to be put in at training on Wednesday nights.
