BUFC D’s vs East Gosford

We last played East Gosford back in April when they were obviously a very good side but slightly disorganised but have since recorded some fine results, climbing up the division to battle for 3^rd spot with Kanwal. Today the troops started brightly getting into our passing game quickly, dominating possession and hitting them down both flanks but struggled to breech their well organised defence. Finally our efforts were rewarded when we broke through with Jess thumping in the opener after probably our best build up of the year involving half the team. Half-time 1-0.

In the 2^nd half we threatened to run riot with Ed and Jess combining well several times only to be thwarted by their post, keeper and sweeper while East Gosford sat back rarely troubling our end. However a rare Gosford foray forward led to them grabbing an equalizer with their striker rather dismayingly waltzing through our defence to squeeze the ball past Baldrick. Fortunately we responded well streaming forward in numbers with yours truly sliding past their sweeper for the winner with able assistance from Denis and John in the build up.  The last 5 minutes was all one way traffic with John and Ed close several times and the ref blowing the final whistle as Ed burst clear to score a second too late. (very harsh!)

Final Score 2-1 to BUFC

Man of the match was Jess (again!) for a fine all round game on both flanks and a superb finish with special mention to Tracy for her efforts running the substitutions and the warm up.
